The sign GHOST TOWN captivated our imaginations as we drove along the Apache Trail Hwy on our Arizona hike vacation of 2023. Should we stop? You betcha!

Well. As much as a walk is always good after sitting in the RV for awhile, we were a bit disappointed. This was the ultimate western tourist trap. From the restaurants, gaudy gifts at shops, and sweets to entice the strongest will, the best part of this stop were the old buildings and characters dressed to the nine's in old west clothing for a reenactment of an old west shootout. By the time the 'show' commenced we had walked the whole place and were ready to move on.

As we returned to home sweet home on wheels, we heard GUNSHOTS and imagined the GASPING GRINS of the audience. We enjoyed hanging out in the cozy comfort of our mini living room munching on homemade (free) sandwiches and no sweets (those would come later).

All that said, it's usually good to get out and see new sights. And it was. But in all fairness to the operation they also offer mine tours and a old time train ride. Which we did not do. Because we're cheap :)
