Egyptian Mummies uses two mummies and their tomb artifacts to teach how the ancient civilization of Egypt regarded its living and preserved its dead.
The two mummies were both female. There the commonality ends. One was very poor, the other quite wealthy. The contrasts that medical study of their bodies revealed makes a fascinating presentation in this exhibit.

She lived 3,000 years ago and was very poor. Ancient Egyptians would buy the best mummification they could afford. Study of her body showed that her brain and organs had not been removed, the thin layer of wrappings were careless, and there were few or no amulets or scarabs placed with her.
The detail STILL in her face after 3,000 YEARS is amazing to us.
