The newest of our urban adventures, this visit to the aquarium was interesting and fun, although hanging out with the diverse collection of swimmers left us feeling sadly nostalgic for our scuba diving days in the Pacific Northwest.

The facility was opened in 1999 with great success but fell short of attendance projections after 911 and the economic turndown. Now owned by Landry's Restaurants, Inc. the aquarium has been expanded and revitalized.
