Greeley Colorado: Artsy, Funky, and Fun
It is mid winter (2016) here at home in Northglenn and we have been house-bound for several week-ends in a row. We need some exercise BUT have walked every trail in and around the neighborhood. We need some place new, PLEASE. After looking up several promising possibilities we head for the Island Grove Regional Park in Greeley Colorado. The Poudre trail system there sounds most appealing.
After an hour drive we are ready to shake the dust from our boots and walk. WAIT...no walk!! 100 yards and one path curve later we run smack into fencing and a message: TRAIL CLOSED.
To our pleasant surprise as we drove to the park we noticed that the town of Greeley is quite charming. A historic home district, wall art, street displays, restaurant choices, and geo-caches. A quick about face saw us leaving the park and getting our wandering wishes satisfied in town.
Thank you, Greeley Colorado, for your numerous enjoyments, 4 miles of exercise, right down to finding a lovely consignment store with a perfect desk for our RV.
We salute you!
