Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo) - male
January 4, 2015 - Commerce City Colorado
Mark pulled the car suddenly to the side of the road upon noticing an unexpected flock of wild turkeys. Ironically we were on our way home from a successful day of bird of prey photography. The turkeys were great subjects (unlike the skittish hawks and eagles) and continued to feed placidly while we snapped away.
More fun ... as we continued our drive we went on to capture two new duck species.
What a day for birds in the wild!
