Badwater Basin Salt Flats Trail - Death Valley National Park
Badwater Basin Salt Flats Trail, in the Death Valley National Park, is a must see if you are exploring the desert! Short on distance, long on views.
We appreciated the dichotomy of the trail with it's initial flat canyon hike to a natural bridge, then opening onto the incredible salt flats that seemingly stretch to the mountains far away. The eyes are agog with all that salt!
Enjoy the photos of plants and desert blooms that we found during the hike and along the road on our way back to camp. We see a beautiful plant and have to stop to take a closer look. We can't help ourselves!
Tallying in at 1.9 miles round trip and a scant 6' elevation gain the Badwater hike will take little of your day and reward you with a great time.
