John's Lake Trail
This 5.1 mile hike was more about stretching our legs than seeking spectacular views. There was little elevation gain, making the hike feel more like a cozy walk.
With the air quality still affected from summer wildfires this September 2020, we were surprised at the stiff competition from fellow park visitors for parking spaces at most trailheads. The timing of our visit to Glacier National Park was based on peak season ending after Labor Day. With much of the east side of the park closed, visitors were all scrunched into the west side. You would have never known peak season was over.
We were glad to find a trailhead with little competition for parking. It would be one of the last during the remainder of our visit.
