For the love of wandering
St. Mary's and Virginia Falls
One of our longest hikes in Glacier National Park, our total distance was 7.42 miles. This trailhead was at the far west end of the Going to the Sun Road and was a bonus for ease of parking. The air quality was impacted from summer wildfires as far away as California state. But close in the views off trail were enjoyable.
Starting at Sunrift Gorge, the trail led us through areas colorful with fall foliage. The elevation gain was a mere 200+ feet. A fun sighting was 3 moose grazing off trail!
