Bird Creek Meadow, Mt Adams - September 2007
This makes three! The third hike on my growing list of hikes to go back to next year at the peak of the wildflower bloom season. The meadows of the Bird Creek area may be the advertised highlight of this hike, and the meadows were lovely, but also we enjoyed the variety of other sights to be found here. Forest areas, mountain vistas, lakes, ponds, and the evidence of wildflowers from earlier in the season. A lady friend from work and I hiked approximately 7.5 miles of the area. In addition to the meadows and lakes, we checked out the Hellroaring Overlook. Only two additional miles took us there and back. It was worth each additional stride. We finished up at Bird Lake where we got to meet Ranger Richard and his friend Gary. They were nice enough to give us a lift back to our car back up at the Hellroaring parking area. Next year, third week of July, WE WILL BE BACK to immerse ourselves in WILDFLOWERS!!
