Lake Serene Trail #1068 - October 1, 2006
The most challenging hike we have done to date! Can you say relentless elevation gain?
We're talking 2000 feet in less than 4 miles. Yikes!
The views , the falls, and the lake were outstanding. We had a dry day of it, with clear visibility to enjoy the stunning vistas and spectacular fall colors. It was a long 8 mile round trip (including our exploring mileage), which we completed the trek in about 7 hours. Lunch at the lake and a scramble around the back of the lakeside made for a wonderful day. Yes, we're sore here and there, but no regrets - WE DID IT!! For more information:
