Wallace Falls - December 15, 2007
Winter hiking, an easy 4 mile round trip, with water water water and NO SNOW! We would recommend this hike any day - summer or winter. Wallace Falls State Park is on the west side of the Cascade Mountains. We got there going through Gold Bar Washington, a place with it's own charm, and taking Steven's Pass Highway. While this park is known for cougar and peregrine falcon sightings, we saw only ourselves and numerous birds. That along with the many lovely views of the falls and panoramic sights of the valley below from on high made this a rewarding, and private, winter stretch of the leg.
