Guanella Pass - September 2014
Guanella Pass is a short easy dual sport ride with killer views, fun geocaching, and a good number of trailheads for access to wonderful hiking.
We had a great day riding the pass on our motorcycles! The more so, since the road has been under construction for what seems forever. Our ride took place on a Sunday with no road construction work taking place. A nice treat! Alas, it looks like the road will be completely paved all too soon. We were grateful to experience the remaining gravel on this ride.
Our day on the pass began with a stop in Bailey Colorado to grab a geocache there. We discovered a sweet little park honoring the history of the settlers of Bailey. A short ride further led us to Grant Colorado and the start of Guanella Pass. We rode through to Georgetown to end our ride.
Fall colors are just beginning to show this early September, making for a beautiful trip. We are looking forward to seeing them in all their glory someday.
