Ophir Pass - September 2015
Riding Ophir Pass on our motorcycles was one of the highlights of our 2015 fall vacation in the Silverton Durango area. We explored the pass in two stages; part one on our motorcycles to the summit on day one, and continuing over the summit down into Ophir on day two.
The total distance of the pass is just under 10 miles with wonderful mountain views, and just enough rocks and ruts to keep things interesting on our motorcycles.
Day two was great 4x4 exploration in our Nissan truck, with the narrow and rutty shelf road offering scenic views as well and ending in the quiet town of Ophir.
A recommend for sure.
